The fun Run Fundraiser Results are in!
Wow! We raised over $48,000 for NRE!! HUGE thank you to all of you for such a successful fundraiser! Your support means the world and will help support so many great things at Northridge! As a group you earned a fantastic prize day, which will include the super awesome VIP Inflatables!
Congratulations to 2nd grade for winning the Pajamas and Popsicle Party, and to Ms. Lewis's 4th grade class for earning an extra recess!!!
Congratulations to Ms. Messer's 3rd grade class and Ms. Burns's kindie class as well! They finished in 2nd and 3rd place and have earned a free Mici cheese pizza for each student in these classes!

This Friday we will be celebrating all the wonderful running and fundraising our students did for NRE on September 18th! It will be so much fun for the kids and a great opportunity for volunteers! Celebrating our students’ hard work is the best!!

Coat and Costume Drive Begins
September 18 - October 9
Starting this Friday, bring your unneeded winter gear (jackets, gloves, hats, boots, etc.) to NRE. We’ll have bins outside the front doors where you can easily drop off donations.
The items will be available in the front lobby for anyone to look through and take home anything they want.
No donation is required to take something! If your family needs a coat, boots, costume, or other winter gear, please feel free to take what you need. Consider it a community swap - give what you don’t need and take what you do need. We want to make sure all NRE kiddos have warm gear this winter!
All leftover items will be donated to Help and Hope Center in Castle Rock.
Multicultural Night
September 25, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Please help make one of the most special nights of the year - NRE Multicultural Night - even better!! NRE families host booths to help us celebrate the diverse cultures represented in our school. We are still looking for booths! Would you like to host a booth and showcase your culture? Please reach out to PTOmulticulturalnightNRE@gmail.com by September 18 to reserve your booth or ask questions!

Ms. Cody (2nd Grade Teacher)
1. Who was your favorite teacher growing up, and what made them so memorable?
My favorite teacher was my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Darting! She loved to sing, so on Fridays, we would sing with her as a class. It was one of my favorite parts of elementary school. She was actually the person who made me realize I wanted to be a teacher, and I got to work with her as a substitute teacher when I got older!
2. What’s the sweetest thing a student has ever said to you?
Last year, I had 5th grade helpers that came in to help with my kiddos. Another staff member's kid was in my class and she handed me a note one day that said "You are beautiful the way that you are." I don't think I'll ever forget that. :)
3. What’s something you’ve been loving lately?
I have recently gotten into crocheting wearable items! I had never made a shirt or sweater before but now it is one of my favorite pastimes. I love being able to customize my clothes!
4. If you weren’t working in education, what career would you have?
I originally began getting my degree in biology to become a high school biology teacher! I would imagine myself probably still teaching, but at a zoo or aquarium instead!
5. If you could instantly teleport anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would teleport to Hawaii! The beach is my happy place, and I am obsessed with ocean animals. I'd love to blink and be there!

The Northridge Elementary PTO is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to bringing students, staff, families, and our community together to make NRE an exceptional place to learn, grow, and connect. Through fundraising, volunteerism, family events, teacher appreciation, and community partnerships, we help create meaningful experiences and provide resources that enrich our entire school community.
