Northridge Elementary Weekly Blast (1)_e

Coats and Costumes drive ends This Friday

The Coat and Costume Drive ends this Friday, October 9th! There are still a couple days to bring your unneeded winter gear (jackets, gloves, hats, boots, etc.) to NRE or pick up something you need! We have bins in the front lobby to drop off things you no longer need.

Coat and Costume Drive

Also, take a look in the bins or on the rack for anything you might need!  Consider it a swap - give what you don’t need and take what you do need. You do not have to make a donation to take something you need.  We want to make sure all NRE kiddos have warm gear this winter!

All leftover items will be donated to Help and Hope Center in Castle Rock.

Stuffie staycation

Something special is happening at NRE... and your child’s stuffie is invited! Stay tuned! 👀

A Few More Items Needed for Conferences

Fall Conference Week is happening now, and we’d love to show our amazing teachers some extra appreciation by keeping them well-fed throughout the week! PTO is covering most of the food, but we could still use a little help filling in the rest.

If you’re able to contribute, check out the remaining items we need. |

Questions With...

Ms. Strickler (1st Grade Teacher)

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Whether I was playing school in my mom's classroom or setting up lessons at home, I was always following in her footsteps.

2. What brought you to NRE?
Highlands Ranch has always been home to me! After graduating from Mountain Vista and finishing college, I knew I wanted to come back to this community. Hearing such wonderful things about NRE from friends and former teachers made it an easy choice, and I knew right away it would be a great fit!

3. What’s your favorite way to spend an evening?
After work, you’ll usually find me at CorePower getting a sweat in! Afterwards, I love coming home to hang out with my dog, Bodie, and wind down with a good book or a fun show.

4. If you weren’t working in education, what career would you have?

I’ve always had a huge passion for true crime, so if I weren't teaching, I’d love to be on the case as a detective or working in a courtroom as a lawyer!

 5. If you could instantly teleport anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Bora Bora, without a doubt! I’d instantly teleport to one of those overwater bungalows, sit back right over the turquoise water, and completely disconnect.
